Take it, talk, and it becomes a diary
This much is the spine of MimiSeka. Once it is familiar, about three minutes a day.
-
From the camera, into your memories
Press the round button in the middle of the screen. The iPhone’s volume button takes a photo too, so you do not have to be looking at the screen.
Taking a photo brings up a confirmation screen. If you do not like it, retake. If it is fine, the middle button has become save, so press it again.
After a few seconds, a description of what is in the frame is read aloud. The photo is saved automatically, description and all, to the “MimiSeka” album in your camera roll — and it can be read out in the iPhone’s own Photos app as well.
To keep this one as a memory inside the app, press save to memories at the top of the screen.
-
From a memory, a conversation
Open memories and choose one photo you feel like talking about. Press talk on the photo screen, and Scia asks you something.
You do not have to work out an answer. Scia offers no advice and solves nothing; it takes your words as they are and asks one more thing. Three to five exchanges in, something you had half-forgotten comes loose.
-
From the conversation, a diary
As the talking opens up, Scia is the one who says “shall we write it down, then?”. At that moment the text field turns into a write button. Press it, and what you said becomes a diary, in the way you actually speak.
Your own timing is fine too. The write button at the top right works in the middle of a conversation. The diary that comes out can be read again from diary on the photo screen.
We would suggest reading it the next day. Something you did not notice at the time comes quietly into view.
Having the AI gather what you said into a diary needs the Standard plan or above. The conversation itself, and writing in your own words, stay free.
Conversation works on the free plan too (up to 10 exchanges a week, and 5 per photo).
And then, a story
The same conversation becomes something to read. This part is only for when you feel like it.
-
From the conversation, a story
A story can be written out of the words you spoke.
There are two ways in. One is write on the conversation screen. The other is to open the story tab on the photo screen, press the pencil beside the title, and choose make a story from the conversation.
The finished story can be listened to as it is. Remaking it, or rewriting it yourself, is entirely up to you.
Writing a story from a conversation also needs the Standard plan or above. Writing from the photo alone depends on the style you choose (narration and the picture diary need the Supporter plan or above, or a story ticket).
A photo you have not talked about can still be written: press the pencil beside the title and choose generate automatically (ten styles; the ones marked with a lock open on higher plans). Writing and keeping something in your own words has no limit at all.

If you get stuck
There is a guide inside the app as well, under “Getting started” in Settings, to look at whenever you like. It reads aloud as it goes, with a diagram of each screen.
What the free plan covers, and the prices, are on the support page. If that still does not answer it, please do write through the contact form.
